weekend bits
I really needed this weekend. Last week was draining. To recap inĀ one longĀ sentence, there was one night when I slept before 9pm, there was the day I left work early to take my mom to the ER, there was the day I got a $1.75 raise (BAAAALLINNNN) and realized I have got to get the heck out of this office, the day I gave Clay his first piano lesson of the year with homework and all, and the night I reunited with all the GGs over tapas.
On Friday I had my fourth bar-pass celebration at The Churchill with church friends. It must be getting obnoxious to some, but I definitely feel loved and am surrounded by such wonderful wonderful friends. I am especially thankful for Grace who put it all together and got stressed out for me and bought me a strawberry cake :)

On Saturday I had a brunch date with Clay at Rae’s which was delicious. We bought a gift for Nolan and headed to his 1st “Up” themed birthday at the park. It was beautiful—laid back and thoughtfully planned. There were grape-soda pins, a candy bar, lots of balloons and thumb-print guest sign-in sheet that created a balloon picture for Noley to keep. Afterwards we took a nap then headed out to LAX to pick up Agnes and John-Mark on their lay-over. We had burgers and beer at Father’s Office and dropped by Colin’s Christmas tree bonfire at Dockweiler where I planted a seed to get John-Mark to move to California. We dropped both of them off at the airport again then had hot fudge sundaes at McDonald’s to cap off a truly awesome day. Agnes is Clay’s friend from China and John-Mark is his childhood BFF. I had met Agnes before so it was wonderful catching up with her. I was reallyreally excited to meet John-Mark for the first time after hearing so much about him. And it was great. I mean, really great.

On Sunday I went to service at PCC and ate lunch at the world’s best Souplantation (they had french toast and egg-pizza!). In the afternoon Clay and I went to celebrate Angel’s birthday in Long Beach with vegan food, a photobooth and conversations with friends. We talked of WOOF-ing and family which led to daydreaming about eloping.
Things are so nice. But I find reasons to complain and whine and throw hissy fits. But I’m working on it, and God is working on me too.
