Went climbing with Grace at Rockreation this past Thursday. Picked up In-n-Out and went to Kristal’s to hang out and pray. I love those girls so much and am so thankful for them. Comfortable and hilarious and honest are times together.

The piece of Kristal’s Grandmother’s plant she brought from Colorado, flowering.
Weekend bits after the jump…
On Friday my boss asked me to take him to his mechanic after work and I agreed. I enjoy conversations with him because our fundamental beliefs on How to Live Life are so wildly divergent. It’s just…awesome. The short detour threw off my sense of direction and I got lost trying to get to Clay’s. That pushed me over the edge of my Friday Fatigue and I completely shut down. I pulled over into a parking lot and stayed shut through dinner at Ray’s. But ever patient Clay knows how to bring me out of that. So I bounced back and we went to see “Pina 3D” which I am so glad we got to see. I wanted to see it because I don’t appreciate Modern Dance and thought maybe the 3D tribute to a Modern Dance Giant would change my perspective. And it did, in some ways, and affirmed my belief that it’s a giant load of hooey in other ways. It certainly made me Feel and was fun to think of what Pina Meant by certain motifs and moves. At other times I couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity! One thing though is certain, dancers are amazing athletes and artists…really incredible what can be evoked through calculated/trained human movement.
Saturday made pancakes for family at home, and spent the day in the Valley with Jenny. We watercolored in my backyard and brought the enterprise inside once the sun started sinking. We both finished two pieces and watched “13 Going on 30” while doing so. We then ate a feast at home thanks to the CG meeting my parents were having and then started making bracelets while watching Felicity. It was soooooo damn wonderful. We dubbed all the creative activity “Outer City Arts” in honor of intensely therapeutic times at “Inner City Arts”.

Jennay’s.

Mines. Blank spaces provided will be words typed for whoever I send these to (they’re postcards).

On Sunday I went to PCC in the morning and heard a wonderful sermon in the Life of Christ series. I love that golden half of worship where I experience true Sabbath rest when I put my tired hands down at my side and quit striving…and just rest…finally rest like a true Daughter with an eternal inheritance that has already been secured. We picked up In-n-Out then went to LFC’s service. Afterwards Clay and I went to Beverly and Ron’s to play “mah-jong”. As soon as we arrived Beverly offered us chocolate cake and after catching up a bit we commenced 5 rounds of mah-jong with Irish pub music playing in the background. So wonderful. It was my first time playing mahjong and I lost all 5 rounds. Maybe next time.

Clay and I love Beverly and Ron who are an older retired couple who spend their days traveling the world months at a time. They are livin’ the dream. In the Fall they were in East Asia and in another few weeks they’ll be in South Africa for the second time.
For dinner we headed back downtown for dinner with Connie and it was just like old times… :) Wish we could see her much more often but these rare occasions sure are sweet.

What a fantastic weekend. Onward! Upward!
