organ crawl
Weekend bits have become unwieldy, wordy and picture-heavy. So I’ll be sharing about my weekend and other happenings throughout the week instead of forcing it all into one post. Posts will still be unwieldy, wordy and picture-heavy.
I’ll begin with the organ crawl.

The First Congregational Church holds an annual organ crawl. Clay loves the sound of organs so when I heard about this we jumped at the opportunity.

We really had no idea what we were getting into. Stops, Ranks, Tone, Color, Pitch, OH MY! We were given a tour of their many organs placed around the church. We were taken to see the pipes themselves above tiny staircases into hidden rooms. Here are the individual pipes. Look at their unique sizes and shapes (and what may not be as obvious, material!)

Honestly, sometimes Clay does some weird things. I turned into the hallway and this is what I found—what looks like a randsom photo-op for terrorists.

32 foot pipes. Daaaaaang. The big ones made the sound of a deep rumble.

The beautiful mahogony “black keys” on the organ.

Outside the church. It was a beautiful day.

After the crawl we got slurpees from 7-11. I wanted to take a nice picture of my slurpee with the palm trees and then this happened. I like it of course.
